Driving in LA - 1940's
4m 54s
Tinsel town (Los Angeles) in the 1940's was a haven for creative talent, drawing thousands of aspiring actors, actresses, writers, musicians, singers, and dancers hoping to make it big in the movies. In the 1940s and 1950s, Bunker Hill was a popular film setting, especially in the film noir genre. Its hillside apartments, flophouses could be portrayed as 'mean-looking' streets. Or, it could be the enclave of the wealthy because of its grand Victorian mansions.
Take this driving tour of Bunker Hill, set to the original music score for THE SCREENWRITERS by award-winning composer, Ben Botkin. Keep an eye out for the billboards showing gas prices and rental car rates.
