THE SCREENWRITERS is the first feature film directed by Peter Edward Forbes. He joined Advent Film Group while still a junior at Patrick Henry College, starting with COME WHAT MAY as a production manager. After graduating, Peter was an director's assistant for HERO, and then joined the props department for ALONE YET NOT ALONE.
He co-founded his own production company, Distant Moon, with PHC classmate and cinematographer Ian Reid. Together they've made several award-winning corporate and inspirational shorts and instructional videos.
in 2016, Peter Forbes was offered a partial scholarship to the prestigious Columbia University MFA program in screenwriting and directing. Most recently, Forbes’s short screenplay, 'Red Gulch,' has won awards in regional and national contests.
The script won the Platinum Award, the highest for a script set in Colorado, at the Colorado Film Festival. It also placed as a “second-rounder” (the top 15 percent) in the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition and as a quarter-finalist in the nationally regarded Slamdance Screenplay Competition.
Watch his commentary about directing his first feature film. We think you'll agree with us that Peter has a very bright future ahead of him.
